Peel Facial

What is the skoah peel facial?

This treatment uses a high-strength glycolic acid to exfoliate the skin more deeply than at-home products. It helps brighten dull skin, improve tone and texture, and target hyperpigmentation. This facial should not be done more than 4 times per year.

What does the peel facial do?

It removes the outer dead layers of the skin, improving texture, fading pigmentation, reducing signs of aging, and helping decongest pores for a smoother finish.

Will my skin actually peel?

Not necessarily. The treatment exfoliates using glycolic acid, but visible peeling doesn’t always occur. You’ll still get the benefits of smoother, brighter skin.

How often can I do a peel?

We recommend about once every 3 months. In between, regular facials help maintain your results. Doing peels too often can increase sensitivity and irritation.

What are the risks and warnings of a peel?

Your skin may become more sensitive. This treatment is not recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, using retin A/Accutane, or have sensitive, broken, or irritated skin. Avoid waxing a few days before and after.

Who should not receive a peel?

Those using Accutane or retin A, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and anyone with sensitive, broken, or irritated skin should avoid this treatment.

Is the peel treatment painful?

You may feel tingling or warmth during treatment. This is normal. If it becomes uncomfortable, your skincare trainer can adjust or neutralize the peel.

What can I expect after a peel?

Your skin may feel slightly sensitive or look a bit pink. The exfoliation continues for a few days. Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF daily. Some people may experience temporary oil increase—using toner can help manage this.

Why does the neutralizer or turbo tonik help after a peel?

Peels lower the skin’s pH (making it more acidic). The neutralizer or toner helps bring the skin back to balance and calm the effects of the treatment.

Products

What’s in skoah products?

skoah products blend the best of science and nature. We use high-quality ingredients like plant extracts, refined oils, and active ingredients that are proven to support healthy skin. Our formulas are designed to be effective, gentle, and easy to use.

Are skoah products vegan and cruelty-free?

We do not test on animals and are PETA certified. Most of our products are vegan, with a few exceptions like lip products that may contain lanolin.

Are skoah products gluten-free?

Yes — skoah products do not contain wheat and are considered gluten-free. Our products are designed to work on the surface of the skin and are not intended for ingestion.

I have sensitive skin — will I react?

You might, but most people with sensitive skin do well with skoah products. We use minimal irritants and offer a range of options so you can find what works best for your skin.

I see propylene glycol — isn’t that antifreeze?

No — it’s not antifreeze. In skincare, propylene glycol is a safe, plant-derived ingredient used to help hydrate and deliver ingredients into the skin.

Why are ingredient lists so long?

Ingredients must be listed using their full scientific names (INCI standards). Longer lists don’t mean worse formulas — they often reflect well-formulated, regulated products.

Why is toner important?

Toner helps rebalance your skin after cleansing, lightly hydrate, and prep your skin so the rest of your routine works better.

Is toner just water?

No — toners may feel like water, but they help hydrate, remove leftover impurities, and bring your skin back to its optimal pH so products absorb better.

When should I use toner?

Use toner after cleansing and before serums or moisturizer — anytime water touches your face, toner helps rebalance your skin.

Do you have fragrance-free products?

Yes — some products are fragrance-free. Others use small amounts of high-quality fragrance to enhance the experience without causing irritation.

Why do some products contain fragrance?

We use minimal, high-quality fragrance to create a pleasant experience. Some products naturally carry the scent of their ingredients.

How do I properly apply sunscreen?

Apply sunscreen 15–30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours, especially if sweating or swimming.

What does SPF mean?

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures how well a sunscreen protects your skin from burning compared to no protection.

Is SPF 45 or 60 necessary?

Not usually — SPF 30 provides strong protection when applied properly. Reapplication is more important than higher numbers.

What’s the difference between UVA and UVB?

UVA rays cause premature aging, while UVB rays cause sunburn. Both contribute to skin damage, which is why broad-spectrum protection matters.

Why does my skin boost feel sticky?

Some formulas are slightly more viscous to control how much product is used and improve performance.

Why does the kream kleanser tingle?

This can happen if your skin is sensitive — you may be feeling soothing or active ingredients working.

Why face skotion instead of face skotion lite?

Face skotion is richer and suited for most skin types, while face skotion lite is lighter and better for oilier or breakout-prone skin.

Why are serums more expensive?

Serums contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, which makes them more targeted and results-driven.

What’s the difference between gold kream and dream kream?

Gold kream is ideal for dry or mature skin and focuses on firming and hydration. Dream kream is a richer night moisturizer designed to repair and support the skin barrier.

Unopened products typically have a shelf life of about 18 months. Once opened, we recommend using them within 12 months.

Can I use skoah products while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Most skoah products are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We recommend avoiding retinol and stronger exfoliating ingredients.

If you’re unsure, check with your healthcare provider or speak with a skin care trainer for personalized guidance.

Are the products you sell the same as those used in facials?

Mostly yes — although some professional-use products are only available in-clinic.

What’s the difference between AHA and enzyme exfoliation?

AHA exfoliates deeper using acids, while enzyme exfoliation works on the surface to gently break down dead skin. Enzymes are typically more suitable for sensitive skin.

How does vitamin C help skin?

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps brighten skin, reduce the look of uneven tone, and protect against environmental damage.

Can I mix skoah products with other brands?

Yes — skoah products can be used alongside other skincare brands, though we recommend keeping your routine simple for best results.

Will skoah products make me break out?

Skin can sometimes react when starting new products. If breakouts persist, try adjusting your routine or reach out for guidance.

How do I find the right products for my skin?

Take our skin quiz or connect with a skin care trainer for personalized recommendations.

Can I buy skoah products without a facial?

Yes — you can shop online or in-store anytime. Facials are recommended but not required.

Are skoah products sold anywhere else?

No — we sell exclusively through skoah.com and our facial shops to ensure product quality and authenticity.

How should I store my products?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Some products (like vitamin C or retinol) benefit from extra care with light and heat exposure.

Are skoah products safe for teenagers?

Yes — most products are suitable for teens. A simple routine is recommended: cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and SPF.

Skin Types

What is my skin type?

Your skin type is based on how your skin behaves — whether it’s oily, dry, balanced, sensitive, or dehydrated. If you’re unsure, our skin quiz or a skin care trainer can help you find the right fit.

What is dehydrated skin?

Dehydrated skin lacks water, not oil. It can feel tight, dull, or more sensitive. The best way to treat it is by layering hydration — think toner, serum, and moisturizer.

How should I build a skincare routine for my skin type?

A simple routine works best: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and SPF. From there, you can adjust based on your skin’s needs — more hydration, oil control, or targeted treatments.

What products are best for acne-prone skin?

Look for products that help balance oil, gently exfoliate, and keep skin hydrated. Avoid over-stripping — consistent, balanced routines work best for breakouts.

Do people with darker skin tones still need SPF?

Yes — everyone needs SPF. While darker skin may not burn as easily, UV exposure can still cause damage, including hyperpigmentation and premature aging.

Skincare Routine

How do I build a skincare routine?

Start with three essentials: cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Once consistent, add targeted treatments like serums, eye cream, or a weekly mask based on your skin goals.

What does a simple morning routine look like?

Cleanse, tone, moisturize, and finish with SPF. Keeping it simple and consistent is key to long-term results.

How often should I cleanse my face?

Twice daily is ideal — morning and night. Cleansing removes dirt, oil, and buildup to keep your skin balanced and clear.

Do I need to double cleanse?

Not always. Double cleansing can be helpful if you wear makeup or SPF, but a single thorough cleanse is enough for most routines.

How often should I exfoliate?

1–3 times per week depending on your skin type. Over-exfoliating can lead to irritation, so consistency matters more than frequency.

Should I use physical or chemical exfoliation?

Chemical exfoliants (like AHAs or enzymes) are generally gentler and more effective. Physical scrubs can be too harsh for some skin types.

How do I use face masks in my routine?

Use masks 1–3 times per week after cleansing. Choose based on your skin’s needs — hydration, exfoliation, or clarifying.

Do I need to wear sunscreen every day?

Yes — even in winter or on cloudy days. Daily SPF is the most important step for preventing premature aging and protecting your skin.

How do I layer my skincare so it doesn’t feel greasy?

Apply products from lightest to richest texture. Use small amounts and allow each layer to absorb before applying the next.

How long does it take to see results from skincare?

Most products take 4–6 weeks of consistent use to show visible results. Some improvements may be noticeable sooner.

Is my skin purging or breaking out?

Purging happens when active ingredients speed up cell turnover, bringing congestion to the surface faster. It usually resolves within a few weeks. Breakouts in new areas or ongoing irritation may indicate a reaction.

Can I use retinol every night?

Start slowly — 1–2 nights per week — then increase as your skin adjusts. Always use at night, follow with moisturizer, and wear SPF daily.

At what age should I start using SPF daily?

As early as possible. UV damage is cumulative, so daily SPF is essential at any age.

Skin Concerns

How do I treat acne and breakouts?

Focus on consistent cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and oil-balancing ingredients. Avoid picking or over-treating, as this can worsen inflammation and slow healing.

Why shouldn’t I pop pimples?

Popping can push bacteria deeper into the skin, leading to more inflammation, scarring, and longer healing times.

What causes clogged pores and blackheads?

Clogged pores are caused by a buildup of oil, dead skin cells, and debris. Regular cleansing and exfoliation help keep pores clear and balanced.

How can I improve the look of large pores?

While pore size is genetic, keeping them clean and balanced can make them appear smaller. Exfoliation and oil control are key.

How do I treat dark spots and hyperpigmentation?

Use brightening ingredients like vitamin C and exfoliants, and always wear SPF. Consistency is key — results take time.

How do I manage dry or dehydrated skin?

Focus on hydration and barrier support. Use gentle cleansers, hydrating toners, and moisturizers that lock in moisture.

What causes dehydrated skin?

Dehydration happens when your skin lacks water, often due to environmental factors, over-exfoliation, or a weakened skin barrier.

How do I repair my skin barrier?

Simplify your routine, reduce exfoliation, and focus on hydration and barrier-supporting ingredients like ceramides.

Why is my skin red, irritated, or reacting to products?

This can be caused by over-exfoliation, too many active ingredients, or sensitivity. Simplify your routine and reintroduce products slowly.

How can I improve dull or tired-looking skin?

Exfoliation, hydration, and consistent skincare help improve radiance. Regular facials can also boost results.

How do I firm and smooth my skin?

Look for ingredients like peptides, retinol, and antioxidants, and stay consistent with your routine over time.

How do I treat sunburned skin?

Focus on soothing and hydrating the skin. Avoid exfoliation and use calming products until the skin recovers.

Ingredients

Why do you use preservatives in your products?

Preservatives keep products safe and stable by preventing bacteria and contamination. Without them, products can spoil quickly — especially water-based formulas.

Are preservatives safe in skincare?

Yes. The preservatives used in skincare are carefully tested and used in safe concentrations to protect both the product and your skin.

What ingredients does skoah avoid?

We focus on effective, skin-supporting ingredients and avoid unnecessary additives. Our formulas are designed to be balanced, gentle, and results-driven.

Are parabens safe?

Parabens have been widely studied and are considered safe in regulated amounts. We formulate with safety, stability, and performance in mind.

What’s the difference between AHAs and BHAs?

AHAs exfoliate the surface of the skin to improve texture and brightness, while BHAs go deeper into pores to help manage oil and congestion.

What does hyaluronic acid do for skin?

Hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain water in the skin, leaving it hydrated, plump, and smooth.

Is it too much to use a hyaluronic acid concentrate with other products?

No — layering hydration can actually improve results. Using a concentrate alongside other products helps boost moisture levels in the skin.

Why is vitamin C important in skincare?

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps brighten skin, reduce the look of uneven tone, and protect against environmental stress.

What do ceramides and peptides do for skin?

Ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier and lock in moisture, while peptides support smoother, firmer-looking skin.
